Victor S. Klimashin
1912, village Tersa,

In 1928-1931 V. Klimashin studied at the Saratov Art
College under the tutelage
of B.V. Milovidov and A.A. Sapozhnikov. He made his residence in
Moscow. He was a member
of the Saratov City Department of
the Junior Mmembers' Organization of the Association of the Revolution
Artists (OMAKhR). Since 1930 he participated
in various exhibitions. In 1943-1945 V. Klimashin worked as a painter
at the
Grekov's Studio. He created a great many political and commercial
posters. From
1937 he worked on "The Smena" and "The Vokrug Sveta" magazines as
illustrator
and graphic designer. Since 1940s he is the Art-Editor-in-Chief of
"The Oronyok" Magazine. As an illustrator and
book artist he collaborated with "The Molodaya Gwardiya" Publishing
House. His
was the authoring of the architectural design of the Soviet Pavilion at
the
International Industrial Exhibition in Bombay in 1952 (he was also
Art-Director-in-Chief of the project); at "The USSR Exhibition of the
Achievements
in Economical and Cultural Construction" in Peking in 1954 he
occupied the same position. V. Klimashin's works were demonstrated at
the
following international exhibitions: in Czechoslovakia (1936), in
Poland (1946); in Austria (1948), in Finland (1950), in China (1954,
1955,
1958), in Hungary and Romania (1974), in England (1978). Klimashin's
works are in the State Tretyakov Art Gallery, in the Central
Museum of Armed Forces, the State Museum of Fine Arts, in the Kursk
Provincial
Picture Gallery, in the Volgograd Museum of Fine Arts, etc.
