He graduated from the Art & Industry Tech School under the Vkhutemas
under the tutelage of V.N. Kuchumov,
V.A. Kuznetsov and D.I. Kiplik. In the pre-war time A. Treskin was engaged in
the art decor restoration works in the Shuvalovs', the Yusupovs' and the
Stroganovs' palaces. As an artist-monumentalist he occupied himself with the
walls-paintings at the workers' commune-center houses; commune-center halls for
culture and recreation activities; health centers. After the war as a restorer he
contributed to the restoration of the murals at the Mariinsky and the Maly
Operny theatres, of the Hermitage halls and those of the Russian Museum, of the park and
palace halls at Oranienbaum and the
Tsarskoe Selo, of the cathedrals in Novgorod, Pskov and Suzdal. From 1950 up to the 1970 A. Treskin supervised
over the murals restoration works in the Pavlovsky Palace.
In colors and composite
design of Treskin's easel painting (still-lives,
portraits, landscapes) one feels the influence of the old masters' works and
the monumental decorative art of the XVIII-XIX centuries. A. Treskin's works
are in the museums of St-Petersburg and in private collections. A. Treskin is a
People's Artist of the RSFSR, a State Prize Laureate. He was awarded a Gold
Medal of the Academy of Arts.
